Today, we spend >90% of our lives breathing indoor air in our
homes, schools, work places, hospitals, airplanes, cars, etc. and the majority
of the water we drink, clean with, and play in comes from
the water outlets in these places. We want clean, safe,
fume/taste free sources, but we are not getting it. Nearly 2
million people in the US will have a health incident this year
related to the poor quality of the air and water. The EPA has
defined 1/3 of all buildings to be "sick" having poor indoor
air quality that spreads disease or or causes
respiratory problems. Food and water sources often are reported
to have bacteria or viruses. Bottled water costs more
per gallon than gasoline! The need is for localized, low
cost, purification technology for the air and water where we
live, work, and play. |

UVCleaning System is
pioneering an entirely new air and water purification technology
which uses newly developed ultraviolet LEDs and photocatalysts to
provide the cleanest and safest solution to air and water
purication. Traditional purification
technologies depend on filters, chemicals, and/or fragile bulb
lamps to provide only a partial solution to the growing problem of
clean air and water. Filters cannot eliminate germs, mercury
lamps cannot remove chemicals, and chemicals leave unpleasant
smells, tastes, and potentially harmful byproducts and chemical
resistant organisms. Organisms are growing
more resistant to traditional methods, and many chemicals and
viruses pass through our municipal water supplies with no treatment
at all. Our energy efficient homes also seal in molds and
chemicals from the building materials which are not captured in our
furnace filters. UVCleaning Systems is developing a
technology that has the potential to solve this growing threat to
our health. |

Using low intensity ultraviolet light generated from UV LEDs, we stimulate two processes that will purify your air and water. The first process is called germicidal irradiation, that is, the direct destruction of bacteria, molds, viruses, germs, protozoa, etc. by irradiating them with intense ultraviolet light. The second process is called ultraviolet photocatalysis which involves breaking down any organic substances to simpler and safer substances that are not harmful, like water and carbon dioxide. When photocatalysts are exposed to ultraviolet light, they help to break apart the molecules in germs, fumes, volatile chemicals, pharmaceutical byproducts, animal dander, allergens, and other materials into more inert molecules. By also using highly efficient UV LEDs instead of traditional mercury lamps, our solution combines these three state of the art technologies to eliminate the safety, cost, hassles, and disposal issues with mercury lamps. Clean, safe, air and water, finally! |

Ultraviolet Germicidal Irradiation has been shown to kill the
majority of today's known bacteria, viruses, molds, fungi,
protozoa, and other living organisms. Standards for UVGI
systems are developed and monitored by a variety of government
agencies. Ultraviolet Photocatalysis has been documented to be effective
in photo-degrading over 1000 different materials from common
pollutants to viruses to volatile chemicals and pharmaceutical
byproducts. A listing of research on UV photocatalysis is
available from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. For more information, contact us at info@uvcleaningsystems.com |
